At Deritend, we understand the importance of getting our customers back up and running as soon as possible. Increased downtime can result in lost production, lost business and worst of all, losing money.
However, few emergency breakdowns have been more critical than this. The client in question was a major hospital in the United Kingdom, and when the air handling unit in theatre seven broke down, we knew the importance of getting them back up and running as soon as possible.
We received an emergency call from the hospital, and thanks to our 24/7, 365 days a year emergency service, we were able to get to the hospital as soon as possible to diagnose, consult, and restore normal order.
This project required the removal of the existing motor and fan assembly, and the manufacture of a new fan and motor assembly. The motor was completely overhauled and restored to original OEM specification with a focus on energy efficiency and increased reliability.
A stringent timescale for completion was obviously paramount to the project, and our engineers gave four-hourly customer updates to keep the client informed on the progression with the repair, and the estimated timescale to re-installation. As part of this project, new bearings, belts and pulleys were supplied to increase operational reliability and efficiency.
The end result was a full commission to full customer satisfaction, with the emergency repairs complete in less than 48 hours, keeping downtime to a minimum. Following on from this emergency breakdown, we completed a full site survey of all air handling units on the site, and as a result, we perform continuous maintenance and repairs to ensure an emergency breakdown isn’t a factor again.
